Adolescent Drug-Free Substance Abuse Treatment Program

Champions Christian Counseling Center provides a day treatment, outpatient, early intervention/prevention, aftercare and transitional services for adolescents aged 13 to 19 who are enrolled in regular school. Group and individual therapy sessions are offered. Services are based on a combination of methods, including Twelve Step, a highly structured approach involving fellowship, mutual support and belief in a “God”; cognitive behavioral therapy, which teaches teens new ways of acting and thinking in response to their environment; multi-systemic therapy, which engages all systems that involve the adolescent; multi-dimensional family therapy, which views adolescent drug in terms of a network of influences such as the community, family, and peers; and reality therapy.

Each client’s treatment is individualized. An initial treatment plan is created during the first 7 days of treatment, the first goal is to work toward abstinence. Each goal has specific tasks that must be completed (e.g. working step packets, sharing in group therapy, individual and family counseling.) The plan also includes goals relevant to specific needs of the client such as depression, anxiety, assertiveness, delinquency, etc. The Saturday 2 hour group treatment program is designed for 3 consecutive Saturdays. Other sessions will be held during the M-F weekday hours. In addition to on-site services, clients can be referred out for mental health services, medical services, or other needed services as well as drug testing on a frequent basis.
