Robert L. Higginbothem, LCDC, ADC, CCJP; retired from the petroleum industry after 25 years of working in the Gulf Coast Area. In 1999 he started a second career by attending Tomball College and obtained a Chemical Dependency Counselor Certificate, a Human Services Certificate, and a Substance Abuse Certificate. He completed 300 hours of practicum training, 4000 counselor intern training hours and obtained a Chemical Dependency Counselor License (LCDC) on August 1, 2003. In 2005 he obtained his Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification (ADC) and the Criminal Justice Addiction Professional Certification (CCJP).

Robert has experience in working with adolescents, adults, and with the Texas probation and parole systems. He has conducted Alcohol and Drug Evaluations, Screenings, Intake Processing, and facilitated Intensive and Supportive Outpatient Group Sessions. He maintains his LCDC, ADC, and CCPJ certification by completing 60 hours of continuing education hours (CEU's) every two years and is a member of the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors (NAADAC) and Texas Association of Addiction Professionals (TAAP).He has presented TAAP Conference Workshops to provide continuing education hours (CEU's) for addiction professionals.

Married for 35 years he has helped his wife raise two children. He is a Veteran of the Armed Forces and a member of Cypress Crossings Christian Church. Robert looks forward to the challenges at Champions Christian Counseling Center and hopes to help his fellow man out of the darkness of addiction and into the light that God offers.
