Mary R. Jenkins, M.A., LPC
I am a proud mother of three grown children and grandmother of five. I visit with them whenever possible, and feel deep contentment to have them in my life! In addition to enjoying my family time, I like to read, travel, train dogs, and watch psychological thriller movies and TV series. I also volunteer at church.
I graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. I earned my teacher certification from University of Texas at Tyler and taught English and Speech for 18 years. Toward the end of the 18 years, I earned my Master’s from University of Texas at Tyler in School Counseling. I have been a school counselor for four years now. I continued my grad school classes at Texas A&M Central Texas and became a LPC, or Licensed Professional Counselor. I am currently an At-Risk Counselor for a Spring ISD elementary school.
I have a therapy dog who accompanies me to school and is available for sessions upon request. I utilize Animal Assisted Therapy, Mindfulness, Sandtray Play, Art Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
