What factors contribute to
frequent or extreme anger?
- Sleep deprivation or lack of rest.
- Substance abuse.
- Tendency to overreact to situations
without obtaining the necessary facts.
- Fear of loss or abandonment in relationships.
- Lack of ability to express feelings
in an assertive manner.
- The idea that the anger is out of
the individual's control.
- A history of abuse by others.
- Growing up in an angry household.
- Lack of information or education
on healthy ways of managing anger.
- Physical illness and/or chronic
pain. Extreme anger and/or violent outbursts can be symptoms of a
more serious emotional or substance abuse problem or can result from
certain injuries to the brain. A trained professional should be consulted
if this is the case.
